Good Afternoon Yellow Jackets. This is Dr. Duffy, Principal at James Monroe High School, with another important reminder.
I am calling with another reminder about attendance. Please make sure all students fill out the attendance form on our webpage, email the homeroom teacher, participate in an electronic meeting with the homeroom teacher, or call the school to indicate your presence and current enrollment at James Monroe High School. We need to hear from you!

Good morning, Yellow Jackets. This is Dr. Duffy, Principal of James Monroe High School, with another update.
First, please see that we have sent an alert that allows you to submit your daily attendance through a form online. This form is accessible on the webpage—you can use the same form each day since it is time-stamped by the day you complete it. The process for taking attendance may change once we classes start on August 31st, but please use this process for now.
I also want to continue to remind everyone to pick up their laptop from 9:00-12:00 on Tuesday or Wednesday morning of this week. Please call us if those times don’t work for you and we will schedule a time for you to pick up your laptop. If you were already given a laptop this past spring or summer, you can exchange that laptop for a new one.
I will continue to provide these updates on our webpage. You will also see today a video presentation of our mission, as well as an introductory video on Canvas, the platform we will be using for all of your classes. Look for additional instructional activities and orientation resources this week.
As always, please reach out to us if you have any questions.
See you soon. Go Jackets!!!

Good Afternoon, Yellow Jackets! Dr. Duffy here, Principal at James Monroe High School, with another daily update.
I am pleased to share the instructional plan for the next eight days. We are calling it the James Monroe High School Time Capsule Project. You will see a list of ten different challenges, and you are tasked to complete one each day and submit it by email to your homeroom teacher (you can expect to receive an email from your homeroom teacher tomorrow morning). The purpose of these challenges is to help you reconnect with the school, your teachers, and each other. We also encourage you to challenge yourself to be creative and thoughtful in your response to these daily challenges. We know we will enjoy reading and viewing your work. Although this information is posted on our website, paper copies are also available at the school—please don’t hesitate to stop by to get your copy.
On another note, I want to emphasize how important it is for students to come to our last laptop distribution program on Wednesday, August 19, from 9:00-12:00. If you have not been able to pick up your laptop at the scheduled time, please call the front office and we will arrange a time for you to get your laptop.
I am convinced that this is actually going to be the best year yet at James Monroe High School. I look forward to reading some of your Time Capsule submissions.
