Principal Snyder's Weekly Update

Good evening, Hugh Mercer Students and Families,

This is your principal, Mr. Snyder, with your weekly update for the upcoming week.

We had a wonderful return from our Winter Break last week and a great start to 2024 and the second half of our school year. As we look to finish strong in the second half, please remember the importance of regular school attendance and developing daily routines that help your child(ren) be ready each day for school and during the school week. Communication is an important part of all this, and we ask that you use our attendance note link located on our website to let us know when your child(ren) cannot attend school.

Parents and Guardians, please help FCPS apply for additional funds for federal connected students by completing an Impact Aid survey that will soon be sent home with your student.  The surveys are due by January 15th.  We greatly appreciate your help in securing these additional funds for our students.  Please reach out to the Finance Department at (540) 372-1130 with any questions.

At the end of this week, we will have a three-day weekend as we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr on Monday, January 15th. FCPS and HMES will be closed on that Monday and return to school on Tuesday, January 16th.

As always, we are looking forward to another productive and positive week ahead. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Your partnership is essential, and working together ensures the success of every Hugh Mercer student.

I hope you enjoy your evening and look forward to a wonderful week ahead.

Goodnight,

Mr. Snyder
