Principal Snyder's Weekly Update

Good evening, Hugh Mercer Students and Families,

This is your principal, Mr. Snyder, with your weekly update for the upcoming week.

Reminders from last week:

Students, we encourage you to wear teal this Tuesday, September 10, in recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day. Let’s show our support and raise awareness for this important cause.

September is Attendance Awareness Month, and we truly appreciate your efforts in ensuring your children attend school regularly when they are healthy. Consistent attendance is vital for building strong relationships and maintaining academic progress. Students are considered chronically absent when they miss 18 or more days in a 180-day school year, which is roughly 2-3 days per month. Let’s work together to help our students succeed by ensuring they’re present and engaged.

Instruction and Assessment

Families, please check your child's backpack tomorrow for their interim report. Take some time to review it with them, and if you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher.

Upcoming Events:

Sept 3-10: HMES Book Fair in Hugh Mercer Library

Sept 9: Interim Reports sent home in student folders

Sept 9, 7:30pm: School Board Meeting

Sept 12: PTA Spirit Night at Sweet Frog

Sept 18: Fall School photos (individual)

Sept 18: PTA Spirit Night at Panera

Sept 26: First early dismissal day of the school year, school ends at 12:45pm

I hope you enjoy your evening and look forward to a wonderful week ahead.

Patriot PRIDE, always,

Mr. Snyder
