weekly principal message - 5 oct 2025

Good evening,

This is Marcus Petty, Principal of James Monroe High School, with a few important announcements:

October is Bullying Prevention Month, and we are excited to continue promoting kindness and respect throughout our school community.

We would also like to invite all parents to join us for the second session of our Parent Series on Tuesday, October 7, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Lecture Hall. This session will focus on note-taking and home study skills. These workshops are a great way to learn strategies that can help you better support your child’s academic success at home.

Last week, a ParentSquare message was sent introducing a 30-Day Family Challenge, a series of daily “tasks” designed for families to complete together. We encourage all families to participate as we continue to build on JM’s RCD foundations of Respect, Engage, and Prepare. Please refer to that message for full details.

Finally, please take a moment to review the newsletter linked in the email portion of this alert. It includes important dates, upcoming events, and our testing schedule.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us here at the school.

One Community. One JM!

Have a great evening!
