Spotlight's on a Star! 🌟 Meet Tracey Young, the heart and soul of James Monroe's student life! Not only does she champion our classrooms as a dedicated teacher and student advocate, but she's also the powerhouse behind our athletes as the Assistant Athletic Director.
Athletic Director, Kenton Griffin, had great things to say about her:

Fredericksburg City Public Schools will be closed today, Friday, January 19, due to current weather conditions that make travel unsafe.

Fredericksburg City Public Schools will be operating on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Friday, January 19, due to adverse weather forecasts. Staff should arrive two hours later than their normal reporting time. We will reassess in the morning and provide an update by 7am if a change is required.
If you see a piece of plywood surrounded by four orange marking sticks at various locations in the City, please do not disturb them. This is actually a method that is used to report snow accumulation to the National Weather Service. These were used during our most recent snow event, and they have been cleared with the anticipation we could see some more snow in the next couple of days. They are placed at four locations throughout the City: Walker Grant Middle School, Dixon Park, Memorial Park, and the Ballfields/ Community Garden across from Wicklow Drive.
St. George's Episcopal Church will feature JM's very own Mr. Perez as part of their concert series on Sunday, January 21 at 3:00 p.m.
Alberto Limonta Perez, aka “Limon”, was born in Havana, Cuba and has spent his musical career of 30 years performing as a folkloric and popular dancer, as well as a vocalist and percussionist. His areas of expertise are the percussion and dance styles of rumba, Afro-Cuban folkloric tradition, and the popular styles of salsa.
The concert is free with donations accepted at the door. Let's show up and support Mr. Perez! 🧡🖤
