On March 20th the Connections Resource Center hosted a family event where parents were able to have one on one conversations with teachers and administrators about their children with the help of interpreters. Parents also learned how to translate school documents and information on the website using Google Translate. Some of the topics discussed were school attendance, the principals' weekly message, school events, transportation changes, and students' grades, among others. Teachers, administrators, and parents shared a meal together and got to meet each other to continue building a stronger relationship among our multilingual families.

Keynote Speaker: We are honored to have Stephanie Malia Krause, author of "Whole Child," as our keynote speaker. The first 100 families to register will receive a complimentary copy of her book.
Breakout Sessions: There will be 10 breakout sessions covering various topics related to mental health and well-being.

With a Bachelor's in Political Science from Shippensburg University, a teaching license from Shenandoah University, and a Master's in Educational Leadership from Old Dominion University, he's more than qualified to lead with excellence!
From the bustling halls of the U.S. House of Representatives to the inspiring classrooms of Fredericksburg, Mr. Brousse's journey has been nothing short of remarkable. As a former high school social studies teacher, track and field coach, and student support specialist, he's dedicated to empowering students to achieve their dreams.

The students from the Latino Students Association from UMW wrote letters to the newcomers at JM. The letters were written in English, Spanish and Pashto. The UMW students shared their experiences as multilingual learners and their journey in education.
