Cyber Bytes, which works in cybersecurity and emerging technologies to address national security challenges, rolled out the red carpet for our students last week. This was a great opportunity for them to learn new and amazing technology.

Tonight's the night, we want to see our JM students, families, staff and community at the Basketball games! The Girls play at 5:30 p.m. followed by the Boys' game at 7:00 p.m. Let's go Jackets!

Members of the James Monroe High School Choir Department traveled to Universal Studios, Florida last month to discover the art of Sound and Recording. They were able to take part in a Foley Sound Design Workshop with a producer and recording engineers from Universal Studios.
The students and chaperones had the best time learning about animation and voiceovers. They were eager to volunteer and try their hand at timing the voiceovers with a clip from Despicable Me. They learned music before traveling and recorded it live in the studio.
The students on the trip represented James Monroe and FCPS in such a positive manner; they were complimented everywhere we went, the studio, the hotel, and the dinner theater we attended. Way to go!
